Voices That Matter is a two-day event that presents sessions covering the latest and most intriguing technology in application development for the iPhone and the iPad. A partial list of topics includes:

Winner of the Free Pass

Paul Herrick, a Sales Manager South America for Brokk Sweden is the winner of the free pass to the iPhone Conference. Paul is just getting started with iPhone application development so no better opportunity to ramp up quickly than hanging with other iPhone developers. Congratulations Paul.

Originally the drawing for the giveaway was to be held March 12th, however, given that the event is still 6+ weeks out, it seems to make sense to extend the deadline for submitting entries.

How the Contest Works

If you are interested to register for the drawing, all you need to do is click the Refer-A-Friend button below and fill in the popup form to refer one or more friends to this blog post. Make sure your email address is correct in the form, as that will be your ticket in the drawing. It’s that simple! I respect your privacy, your email will be used only for registration in the event.

The Details

The deadline to register for the drawing is March 24th, 2010. The winner will be announced on March 25th, 2010. The drawing is for one free admission pass only, you will have to pay any additional travel or related expenses.

This weeks winner is Woongcheol Yang, congratulations Woongcheol!

Woongcheol is from South Korea and is currently a computer science major at Princeton University. Mostly interested in developing web applications, Woongcheol does have an iPod touch 2G and has spent some time playing around writing iPhone apps. Here’s a little more about Alex, in his own words:

I’m an Engineer and iPhone Developer in training based in Medellín, Colombia. My day job title is Senior Software Engineer at Brainchild.com where my job is to write educational software, but I jump into iphone development whenever I have the chance.

I co-wrote Quick Graph a popular 3D graphic calculator for the iPhone, Crazy Drops, a Candy Crisis clone and Prism Lab a small physics toy.

If you are not familiar with iSimulate, it’s a handy dev-tool if you need to test accelerometer, multi-touch or GPS code from within Xcode (using the simulator).

Here’s a little more about Torsten, in his own words:

Torsten is an open source kind of guy. He is the founder of CocoaHeads Frankfurt but lives in Berlin now. After his job at joost he got more and more into iPhone development. Since then he is mostly doing contracting work with different clients. As one of his last projects he has been working with Agile Partners on Star6 which made it into the top 20 of the app store music apps just recently.

Anything related to Cocoa, iPhone-SDK, Xcode, Objective-C, debugging…most anything that is relevant for iPhone developers who are looking for interesting, creative and useful tips.

Ground Rules
For each tip/trick submitted and each question posted, your email address will be entered into the drawing. Each person can be entered into the drawing a maximum of two times. The deadline to submit a tip will be 11:59pm, CST, August 27th, 2009. I’ll announce to winner on August 28th, 2009.
